CollegeBand and Fornaka Form Friendship
BEVERLY HILLS, California, July 29th, 2017 - CollegeBand® (www.collegeband.com), the world’s first archival record label to release decades of previously unavailable music created on scores of college campuses, has just announced their friendship with Stanford University’s very own Fornaka.
"Being in this band was a really special part of our time at Stanford," said Fornaka drummer Jack Bowen. "Seeing these songs together, digitally like this, really solidifies what we did, as though it really is a living piece of art. It reminded us all of how proud we were of this creative venture, and how much fun we had doing it." Reed Seerman, CollegeBand CEO, added “Stand-up guys who played stand-up music--that's what Fornaka means to me. Are we friends? Yes. Are we a team? Well, put it this way: there's no "I" in Fornaka.”
Founded in 2008, CollegeBand enables users to search and preview merchandise, art, and musical works by bands like Fornaka. Each band’s affiliated school is gifted 5% of earnings, with the remainder split 50/50 between CollegeBand and the artist.
Fornaka formed in the Spring of 1992 as Jason, Rich, Raj and Jack got together, playing songs from their favorite bands like Fugazi, Smashing Pumpkins, and the Pixies. Wanting to take the next creative step and write their own music, they found Blake to sing for them and recorded their debut album, “Don’t Blink,” followed by their follow-up album, "Busted...Again," and hit the local Stanford tour circuit.
